Tag for 21st Birthday

Tag for 21st Birthday

A beautiful tag I made for a lovely young lady for her 21st.  Really enjoyed creating this pretty feminine tag. I used the Julie Nutting doll stamp ( which I have a few ) I love how I can create different themes by changing the paper patterns for the clothes. I love making the backgrounds using many mixed media products.

Sorry photo quality not good

Male Birthday Card Ideas

 Male Birthday Card Ideas

Well here is another Idea for a  male birthday card, I seem to have a few birthdays where I am needing to make a card for a male.  Here is another one using the foil, building paper and alcohol inks. Finding it quick and easy now to pull this type of card together.

Male Card Burnt Metal 001

Here is a close up showing the texture that you get with the foil, which I crunched up first then stuck it down onto the sookwang double sided tape which was on the building paper. The link for Sookwang takes you to Scrapbooking Made Simple as that is where I was able to buy the large width of this tape. Mine is 4.5 inches or 11.5 cm wide.

Then I passed it through the Spellbinders Grand Calibur machine between a embossing folder.

Even closer: Used some hemp under the black cardstock, that was embossed with gold embossing powder.  Add the hemp twine to the card to bring it all together.

Happy to answer any questions about this technique.

Male 21st Card

Male 21st Card

Here is a technique that I have used before and I just love the outcome.  It is easy to do and you can get so many different looks.

I made plain black envelope to go with it and just embossed Happy Birthday on the front.

Here is a close up of the main feature of the card. To achieve this I first cut a piece of black building paper to fit my Grand Calibre then covered it with some double sided tape, you can use any brand I have a wide roll of Sookwang Double-Sided TapeI then  scrunched up some aluminium foil and placed it on top and then I put it in between an embossing folder and ran it through my Grand Calibre machine.

Then using a blending tool with Alcohol inks I covered the embossed foil.  Then holding the piece vertical I added alcohol ink to the top and let it drip down through the embossing. Lastly I used the Tim Holtz sanding block I rubbed it gently and took off a layer of ink off the raised areas.

I covered chipboard numbers 2 & 1 in silver embossing powder and heat set to achieve a metallic look, then used the same embossing powder to the stamped Happy Birthday on the black cardstock.  Attached the 21 to the cardstock, added two brads in the corners and backed it with another piece of cardstock. I then layered it all together.

On the inside I used some leftovers to make a gift card holder & some detail on the other side.

Creative Journal

Here is an older post from my previous Blog. I wanted to add it as I loved the end result, this is a lovely arty journal.

After a year of house renovations that had taken up all my spare time I was able to do this project.  However  my art room has expanded in supplies over this time, so I have to get to work and create.

I have just finished a class called ‘Distrezz-it-all’ with Donna Salazar at  www.mycreativeclassroom.com it was great, I have had the Distress-it-all machine for about a year or more and have not really used it so I thought this would get me started.  Yes it did I cant wait to do more with this machine I just love it.  In this class we used the bind-it-all as well, which I purchased around the same time with the same lack of use.

So here are some pictures of the cover of my journal, just yummy love the feel of it.
